Running
By: Jane Rockwell
She is always running
Running to trees and things
Things she reaches and touches
Touches – “What next, Dad?” she sings.
Sings about the flowers
Flowers, spring, and birds
Birds singing, chirping
Chirping out the words
Words can’t describe the sunshine
Sunshine all around
Around this child watching
Watching shadows on the ground
Ground and bugs and tiny things
Things that we don’t see
See those things a child does
Does wonder cease to be?
This is a loop poem. The last word of one line becomes the first word of the next. The rhyme scheme is abcb.
I thought it was kind of loopy. Nicely done.
