Poem: MANGOES

MANGOES

Why does the white haired woman
Plant mango trees?
Her legs have lost their power
She'll be gone before the fruits flower.
Her belly is full.
There are mangos in her breakfast bowl.
She has nothing to win.
She has no children.
What does she see?
Her eyes almost blind
Does her heart know a place
Where there is no time?
