Poem of the Day

It's The Light
    By: Paula Marston

It's all about the light. The slant of sun,
when day is done and night is standing by.
To fall in folds, fan out, then float, freeing our
thoughts to fly.

Those thoughts by day, in black and white,
printed and posted, held up to the light,
scrutinized for errors of grammar, syntax,
be they truth or lies...

But thoughts by night rise up, take flight,
join hands, form rings and soar. Not pinned
to dry like sheets on a line. Tossed high,
flinging their words like flocks of birds,
to settle on the branches.

Feathered heads beneath a wing,
the silent words sleep til dawn appears
and sets them, one by one,
those lofty words, to peeping.
