Poem for the Day

Stop Rick From Poeticide
Chatham and Lee County poets,
Scratch on ruled paper
With turkey quill pens while
Rafting the Haw River currents.
Cool rhymes, inspirational fits
Best words to savor
Minimalistic wile--
As Rick writes nonsensical torrents.

Rick wishes he’d recognized former wits,
Lives lost forever
Their adverbs that beguile.
He’s distracted by diving cormorants.
His mind roars with thoughts and never quits,
Loves the endeavor
Keeps tons of work on file--
Glad he has money for next month’s rent.

Rick Bylina
