Poem for April 11

Zinnias

Zinnias dominate along garden wall
Get more aggressive as we turn to fall.
Twiggy-like legginess; they bend in the breeze
Pick them early morning; re-grow with ease.

Zinnias hide defects in the garden wall
Colorful, long-lasting, pick quite a haul
Fill vases, wine glasses, and my beer mug, too
But watch for hornets sipping morning's dew.
