Literary Happenings in
Chatham/Lee Counties:
VISION AND VOICE:
A POETIC JOURNEY THROUGH THE GALLERY
Sunday, March 24th
at the Joyful Jewel 44-A Hillsboro St, Pittsboro
The Joyful Jewel invites writers of all ages and
levels to come to the gallery, pen in hand. See which piece of art, jewelry, or
craft will inspire your words for a poem, an impression, or a short bit of
writing (max 5 minutes to read aloud). Let us know which piece/s you are, or
may be, writing about, the artist & the title of the art, so we can take a
picture of it.
Submission Guidelines: Submit your writing by
email no later than March 3. Please submit your writing along with: 1) your
name, 2) telephone number, (3) email address, 4) title of your writing, and 5)
artist & title of the artwork that inspired you.
We’ll collect the writings and pictures of the
art in a booklet to display, and perhaps to sell. Plan to come to the Joyful
Jewel on Sunday, March 24 to present your writing. Hopefully, the artist whose
work inspired you will present with you.
Friday, February 8: Captain Bob Cathcart’s poetry reading
and coming out party at the Joyful Jewel, 44-A Hillsboro Street in Pittsboro.
Admission is free. Doors open at 6:30

Saturday, February 9: A Tale
