The Joyful Jewel invites writers of all ages
and levels to come to the gallery, pen in hand. See which piece of art,
jewelry, or craft will inspire your words for a poem, an impression, or a short
bit of writing (max 10 minutes to read aloud). You’re welcome to view
creative works from our artists any time during our shoppe hours Monday –
Saturday 10:30 – 5:30 or Sunday 12 – 4pm. Before you leave, please
let us know which piece
you are writing about, the artist & the title of the art, so we can take a
picture of it to have in case the piece is sold in the meantime.
Submission
Guidelines: Submit your writing by email no later than March 2. Please submit
your writing along with: 1) your name, 2) telephone number, (3) email
address, 4) title of your writing, 5) artist & title of the artwork
that inspired you and 6) whether you agree for us to publish this writing in a
booklet that might be for sale.
We’ll
collect the writings and pictures of the art in a booklet to display at the
Joyful Jewel, and perhaps this year also to sell. Plan to come to the
Joyful Jewel on Sunday, March 23 to present your writing.
Hopefully, the artist whose work inspired you will present along with
you.
